#3 Meet Our Team: Trinh Cao Nguyen – Chief Green Building Engineer

After more than five years with Edeec, Mr. Trinh Cao Nguyen now plays a key role as Chief Green Building Engineer, leading the engineering team and consulting on numerous sustainable building projects. Colleagues know him for his dedication and professionalism, yet beyond work, Nguyen has many stories to share – from navigating the challenges of a career in sustainable construction to the everyday hobbies that keep him grounded.

Get to know Mr. Trinh Cao Nguyen through his sharing:

1. What’s your current role at Edeec?

I am in charge of Green Building Certification Consulting (LEED, LOTUS, Green Mark, etc.) – supporting projects to achieve international standards in sustainable construction.

2. When did you start working at Edeec?

I joined Edeec in January 2019, and it has been 5 years now.

3. A few academic or professional achievements are you most proud of?

Probably earning the LEED AP . It feels like a “green card” that gives me more confidence when working on projects.

4. What inspired you to join Edeec?

Simply the desire to learn new knowledge. At Edeec, I get to both learn and apply things in real projects, which is very exciting.

5. What is the most memorable project you have work on?

Techcombank Tower – a large-scale project, full of challenges, but also one that gave me valuable experiences.

6. What has been the biggest challenge in your work?

In the beginning, I felt I lacked the necessary skills. Green building was still a new field in Vietnam, with few formal training programs. My previous experience didn’t quite fit, so I had to study international materials, take certification exams, and continuously improve myself to build a solid foundation.

7. If you had to describe Edeec’s future in three points?

“Change, Diversity, Opportunity”. Change to grow stronger, diversity in working with clients from various industries, and opportunities for every individual in the company to develop.

8. A hobby or fun fact few people know about you?

I enjoy playing billiards. It’s a good mix of practice and relaxation after long hours at work. The game requires high concentration, so stress quickly fades away once I’m at the table.

9. What quote or life motto do you live by?

Lately, there’s a popular saying: “anh em minh cu the thoi, he he he.” I find it suits me well: live comfortably, give your best, and things will work out.
