A unique aspect of EDEEC’s design consultancy is the commitment it takes to help investors achieve the highest levels of certification for each project at minimum costs by not only consulting according to the checklist for green certification but also ensuring that the building’s engineering system is optimized, the equipment capacity is optimized and the investment capital is allocated appropriately, resulting in the lowest investment costs with the highest living standards possible.
Thanks to a solid technical core, EDEEC’s approach to each project is always at the heart of quality, comfort, and economic efficiency. EDEEC works closely with the entire project team from the design stage to the completion, providing comprehensive services ranging from feasibility studies, and certification consultations from design to operation, basic & advanced acceptance, accompanied by in-depth analysis such as proposing an air-conditioning system to help optimize investment costs, consulting on choosing operating equipment, consulting on optimal envelope design for the building.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the green building rating system of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). It is one of the most widely published green building assessment toolkits in the world. It is available for a wide range of building types and construction stages, such as brand-new construction, existing buildings, renovations, indoor spaces or focus on core and rough construction.
The LEED toolkit requirements include both prerequisites, which are required for LEED certification, and credits which are optional elements to improve a project’s overall score. Depending on the credit score achieved, the certification level of LEED standards is divided into Certified (40–49 points), Silver (50–59 points), Gold (60–79 points), or Platinum (80 points) + points).
EDEEC has experience in consulting for high-rise buildings with LEED Silver & LEED Gold certification in Vietnam.
Haute Qualité Environnementale (abbreviated as HQE) is a voluntary certificate originating from France and is very popular in Europe and some countries in South America. HQE certification conducts an assessment of the entire life cycle of a building including design, construction, renovation, and operation. Non-residential buildings, apartment buildings, detached houses as well as urban planning and development are all eligible for HQE certification. This is a set of certificates that are considered more prestigious and difficult than other green building criteria by:
EDEEC has successfully consulted on the first HQE certificated project in Vietnam for The Charming Hoi An Villa.
LOTUS is a green building rating system created by the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC), a project of the non-profit Green City Foundation, based in California, USA. The special feature of the LOTUS standard is that it is a set of certificates developed based on green building assessment toolkits of developed countries. However, it has been adjusted to suit climate conditions and civil engineering industry practices in Vietnam, with consultation and reference according to Vietnamese construction laws & standards. LOTUS certification covers a variety of building types and design stages with certification levels, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
EDEEC has successfully consulted both the contents of energy simulation for LOTUS certified works and for projects to get Gold LOTUS certification.
BCA GREEN MARK is a set of certificates developed by the Singapore Ministry of Construction (BCA- Building and Construction Authority), issued in 2005 to orient and lead the Singapore construction industry towards sustainable development, and is present in Vietnam. Nam since 2010. This is considered one of the pioneering green building assessment toolkits in Southeast Asia.
The Green Mark series of certificates focus on energy efficiency, water efficiency, environmental protection, air quality, and other green categories. Similar to LEED and LOTUS, the GREEN MARK certification is available in Certified, Silver, Gold & Platinum certification levels.
EDEEC is in the process of consulting on buildings to obtain Green Mark Gold certification.
