AEON Mall is one of Asia’s leading retail groups, renowned for its large-scale shopping mall models, high operational standards, and strong commitment to sustainable development. The Group’s sustainability vision is demonstrated through the pursuit of dual certifications: LOTUS GOLD (Vietnam) and EDGE CERTIFIED (IFC – World Bank).

EDEEC collaborated with contractors and the Developer to select green strategies that simultaneously satisfy both LOTUS and EDGE criteria. Key highlights include:

FOR LOTUS

• Reduce operational energy by 35.53% compared to the baseline.

• Achieve a preliminary reduction of 31.51% in total energy use versus the base model.

• Install nearly 2,305 m² of solar panels, meeting 7.5% of the total electricity demand.

• Utilize high-quality Low-E glass to minimize heat gain, high-efficiency equipment, and modern HVAC systems integrated with smart building management and solar power on roofs and walls.

• Ensure the VRF air conditioning system maintains a COP at least 30% higher than the LOTUS baseline.

FOR EGDE

• Reach an energy efficiency saving level of 25%.

• Optimize the Window-to-Wall Ratio (WWR) at 10.17% (compared to the 40% baseline) to significantly reduce heat absorption.

• Lower embodied carbon in materials by at least 20% compared to the baseline.

• Deploy on-site solar energy systems to meet at least 4% of the building’s energy needs.

In addition to performance optimization, EDEEC inspected and evaluated the heat dissipation of rooftop outdoor units. By providing technical recommendations tailored to actual installation conditions, EDEEC helped ensure the HVAC system operates stably, efficiently, and sustainably for this large-scale commercial center.
