Yaskawa Vietnam Factory project is one of the key production facilities of the world’s leading group in drive technology, industrial automation, and robotics. With a sustainable development orientation, the project has pursued LEED certification to optimize operating costs and affirm the group’s commitment to environmental protection in Vietnam.

From detailed energy simulation analyses to in-depth optimization proposals, the building achieved an operational energy reduction of up to 86.34% compared to the baseline. Even at the current design stage, the project has exceeded LEED’s minimum requirements with a saving level of 21.56%. The project has the potential to save approximately 1.56 billion VND in electricity costs per year (not including benefits from the solar panel system).

The EDEEC team has accompanied the Yaskawa Vietnam Mechatronics System project on the roadmap toward LEED Silver certification, with core strategies including:

• Install 8,300 m² of solar panels, capable of generating 1,572.2 MWh/year. Meeting up to 76.55% of the total electricity demand of the entire factory, reducing 3.52 billion in electricity costs per year.

• Energy-efficient design and cost optimization for the project: using a high-efficiency water-cooled Chiller system combined with fresh air handling equipment, helping to ensure thermal comfort for both the production area and office while maximizing energy savings. Use PAU with enthalpy recovery for the office block and canteen.

• Design prioritizes strategies to improve indoor air quality and use low-emission materials, ensuring health and work performance for staff and employees.

• Internal cross-contamination prevention: minimum exhaust flow rate of 2.54 l/s/m2 for areas (WC, garage, trash room, etc.), using self-closing doors for these rooms.

These results are a testament to EDEEC’s capability in integrating complex technical solutions, turning the investor’s sustainability goals into real numbers, helping Yaskawa Vietnam become a typical model of a smart and green factory in the Quang Ninh area.
