EDEEC (Environmental Design and Energy Efficiency Consultant) was founded on the basis of more than ten years of consulting on energy efficiency for international programs of IFC-World Bank, USAID, UNDP, and UNEP…
Among other activities, EDEEC implemented digitalization, simulated all 11 demonstration projects of energy conservation (USAID, UNDP), and contributed to the compilation of national standards for energy-efficient buildings (IFC-World Bank).
We offer specialized technical services to optimize cost allocation to building components without increasing investment costs.
is our commitment to Investors
Mr. Tran Thanh Vu has more than ten years of experience being trusted by international organizations. He is widely known as the leading expert in Vietnam on building energy simulation. Having a Master's degree in France, with extensive consulting experience, he has a deep understanding of simulation applications in thermal, energy, and comfort calculations. This is to support the design of the façade, HVAC, lighting, ventilation, sound, etc., with the optimal investment cost under the conditions of Vietnam.
Master-architect Tran Thanh Vu spent many years studying, in-depth research, and working in France on the application of engineering simulation in building design (thermal, acoustics, light…). In addition, he is the consultant for 11 energy-efficiency projects implemented in Vietnam for UNDP, USAID, and IFC-World Bank programs. Having researched and applied energy-saving technologies for more than 10 years, Mr. Vu understands that using modern tools is only the beginning. It is crucial to have enough technical capability and breakthrough creativity to come up with the most effective solution.
EDEEC’s engineering team, led by Tran Thanh Vu, has extensive experience performing design optimization with energy-saving projects that also create outstanding returns for investors in terms of cost reduction and profits.
Instead of giving general advice without data (especially for big projects with complex technical systems), we makes detailed calculations for all the possible solutions (passive design, material, technical system of pump, fan, VRF, chiller…) to evaluate the possibility of energy saving, cost, payback time….thereby suggest the best cost-effective solution.
It is similar in case of green building. In addition to checklist- type criteria, we look for deep optimization through 3D thermal simulation modeling to maximize investment efficiency. This step is usually not performed during the prevailing design process in Vietnam but crucial for EDEEC to achieve green building without increasing investment costs.
Green building certification consultation is based on the checklist to obtain green credits for the project and review different design components of the building as required by the certification (energy, water, materials, the environment, transport connection, air quality, etc.)
While many stages of design and quality control are common internationally, they haven't been fully integrated into the Vietnamese general design process. EDEEC team supports complete control of those components to lay a solid foundation for green building. In addition to regular green building consultation, we also perform thermal and energy simulation that helps buildings get green certification with the lowest investment cost. EDEEC concentrates on appropriate capacity allocation and a detailed review of operation factors. We master how the HVAC works with other systems to provide the detailed calculation data for MEP deployment, a suggestion of operation model suitable to weather characteristics and regional habits…
EDEEC has years of experience coordinating with prestigious international programs, surveying and consulting energy for more than 40 projects. These projects include hotels, offices, hospitals, factories, renovations, and more. We at EDEEC understand the problems of Vietnam, from unanswered questions during the design process to problems that arise during the construction process. Taking advantage of this fact, we locate, develop, and offer appropriate solutions specific to each project, ensuring the maximum benefits for our partners and clients.
EDEEC’s team of experts has more than 10 years of experience contributing to green building and energy-efficient building development programs in Vietnam through 9 international programs, implemented/sponsored by USAID, IFC-World Bank, UNDP, UNEP, REEEP- Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership, Embassy of Finland in Hanoi, Hans Seidel Foundation, Dutch Science and Technology Committee for Vietnam KWT. EDEEC’s team has a deep understanding of Vietnam’s problems in the field of green and energy-efficient buildings so we can offer the best effective solutions for each project. We desire to contribute with our enthusiasm to the overall development of the green building industry in Vietnam.
