TMU is a pioneering university in implementing sustainable initiatives. In parallel with updating the green and sustainable curriculum to students, the university administrator decided to build the Central Lecture building according to US LEED green certification standards.
In this project, Edeec’s experts worked closely with design consultants, making every effort to calculate details for each design option, comparing different solutions to find an integrated design plan that brings the best benefits for the building. The final chosen solution ensures the project takes full advantage of natural lightning and ventilation. Combined with optimal HVAC system design, TMU’s Central Lecture Hall achieves an energy efficiency level of more than 45% compared to the LEED baseline.
With the function of a lecture hall, the project has an operating strategy similar to office buildings; energy use reaches peak at office hours and stops at night. The energy efficiency level of over 45% without solar panels is a new record compared to similar projects in Vietnam.
